Caleta de Fuste or Costa Calma?
Two calm, family-friendly resorts — but a very different transfer time and resort style.
Caleta de Fuste is the closer option to the airport (about 10 minutes) with a compact, sheltered bay and a golf course — a good pick if you want the shortest possible transfer. Costa Calma is further south on the Jandía peninsula, with a longer beach and the Sotavento lagoon, better suited to windsurfers or anyone wanting a bigger resort strip.

Caleta de Fuste at a glance
Caleta de Fuste is a purpose-built resort on the east coast, sheltered from the Atlantic winds by the island's central ridge. The crescent bay offers some of the calmest swimming on the island, which makes it a popular choice for families with very young children. Its proximity to the airport — about 10 minutes away — and a golf course nearby round out the appeal.

Costa Calma sits further south, halfway down the Jandía peninsula, and is best known for the shallow, sheltered Sotavento lagoon — calm enough for young children close to shore, with reliable wind further out for windsurfing. The resort itself is more spread out along the coast road, with a wider choice of hotels and restaurants than Caleta de Fuste.

Shortest possible airport transfer: Caleta de Fuste — around 10 minutes from the terminal, versus close to an hour to Costa Calma.
Windsurfing or kitesurfing: Costa Calma — the Sotavento lagoon is one of the sport's best-known spots worldwide.
Golf: Caleta de Fuste, which has its own course close by.
A bigger resort strip with more restaurant variety: Costa Calma, simply because it's larger and more spread out along the coast.
Getting between them
Caleta de Fuste and Costa Calma are about 58 km apart, roughly 50 minutes by car down the east coast and across to the Jandía peninsula. A direct Tiadhe bus also runs between them, around five times a day, taking about an hour and 15 minutes.
